Zazen Boysの向井秀徳と若き異形SSW、LEO今井による衝撃のニュー・ユニット、Kimonosのフル・アルバムが完成!! 新曲8曲に加え、LEO今井のインディ時の名曲 Tokyo Lights と、さらに細野晴臣の Sports Men のカバーまでを収録!!!

8月下旬に公式サイトが突如開設され、その詳細に注目が集まっていた、Kimonos。先日、向井氏とLEO今井氏という、Matsuri Studioのマスター＆パダワンとでも言うべき2人のプロジェクトと発表されましたが、早くもフル・アルバムがリリース!! 先行12インチ・シングル Almost Human (B3)などの新曲はもちろん、LEO今井のソロ曲 Tokyo Lights のKimonosヴァージョン(B5)、さらに80年代の曲をカヴァーしたいというユニットの着想の源として最初に二人で取り組んだという、細野晴臣が82年に発表したエレクトロ・ファンク Sports Men (B1)のカヴァーも収録!! 180グラム重量盤、ゲートフォールド・UVコーティング・ジャケット(内側両サイドに中村大三郎の大正美人画『ピアノ』をプリント)、インナー・スリーブに歌詞・対訳記載という、昨今の国内盤ではなかなかお目にかかれない豪華仕様も素晴らしい1枚です。
